MICHAEL J. PAGNANI, MD

Dr. Pagnani specializes in sports medicine and surgery of the knee and shoulder. He acted as Head Team Physician for the Nashville Predators NHL Hockey Team from 1998-2007. In addition, he is a consultant to the Miami Dolphins Football Team. Dr. Pagnani has cared for many well-known athletes. He has served as a team physician for the New York Giants, Nashville Kats, Nashville Sounds, Tennessee State University, and several Nashville area high schools. He has also acted as the Team Physician for Elite Runners for Country Music Marathon. In 2004, Dr. Pagnani was named the Tennessee Sports Medicine Person of the Year by the Tennessee Athletic Trainers’ Society.

He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the internationally renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Pagnani was active in high school and collegiate athletics, and has first-hand experience with athletic injuries. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, he made the Kentucky All-State Football Team in high school.

He has written more than 40 scientific papers and book chapters including a landmark paper on the treatment of shoulder dislocations in football players. He serves as a consultant for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

He has served in leadership positions in the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. As the director of a nationally-recognized Sports Medicine Fellowship, he has trained several orthopaedic surgeons in the field of Sports Medicine who now practice throughout the world.

Dr. Pagnani lives in Nashville with his wife Kelly and 2 children (Sarah & Connor). Away from work, Dr. Pagnani enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, reading history, and coaching lacrosse.

JASON A. JONES, MD

Dr. Jones is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports injuries and surgery of the shoulder and knee. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. While in New York, he served as assistant team physician to the New York Jets and New York Islanders. After completing his fellowship, he did additional training in Nice, France with the world-renowned shoulder surgeon, Pascal Boileau. During his training, Dr. Jones received extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, knee, ankle and elbow. His training also consisted of joint replacement of the knee and shoulder including partial knee replacement and reverse total shoulders. Additional areas of expertise include fracture care and management of arthritis.

Dr. Jones is a native of East Tennessee, where he graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During high school and college, Dr. Jones ran cross-country and wrestled. He then attended medical school at East Tennessee State University. His orthopedic residency was completed at SUNY-Stony Brook in New York. His sports medicine fellowship was completed at Lenox Hill Hospital followed by additional training in complex shoulder surgery at L’Archet 2 Hospital in France.

Dr. Jones maintains membership in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Jones has authored numerous orthopedics publications. While in fellowship he received the research award for most outstanding original research. Dr. Jones is on the medical staff of Baptist Hospital and Centennial Medical Center.

Dr. Jones lives in Nashville with his wife Brittany. In his free time Dr. Jones enjoys an active lifestyle taking part in running, biking, basketball, golf, fishing, and competing in triathlons. He also enjoys travel and has graduated from advanced Spanish language schools in Spain and Argentina. He has participated in numerous medical missions throughout the world including Honduras, Peru and Mexico. He currently works closely with the medical division at CrossRoads missions based in Louisville, KY.

JUSTIN HILL, PA-C

Justin is a certified physician assistant who has worked at Nashville Knee & Shoulder Center since 2011. He earned his Bachelors Degree at Southern Adventis University in Chattanooge, TN with a double major in Management and Accounting. He then trained at Kettering College in Dayton, OH where he received his Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He has worked under Dr. Pagnani since completing his masters program, and specializes in sports medicine as well as injuries of the shoulder and knee.


Justin is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic surgery (PAOS). He has attended multiple conferences to stay current on orthopaedic trends.


Justin lives in Hendersonville with his wife Bethany and sons Levi & Owen. In his free time he enjoys woodworking. He enjoys repairing things around the house and tinkering with small electronics.

JOSH SLOAN, NP

Josh Sloan is a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. He received his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Middle Tennessee State University in 2007 and went on to receive his master’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2009. Josh has worked exclusively in orthopedics and has developed a broad knowledge in evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and ailments. Josh especially enjoys working with athletes across the spectrum of age and ability to get people back to doing what they enjoy and improving their quality of life.

 

Josh is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners staying up to date with current evidence based practice. Josh is on staff at Saint Thomas Midtown and West Hospitals as well as Centennial Medical Center. Josh currently assists with medical coverage for Goodpasture Christian School and Franklin Road Academy, as well as provide care for several other local high schools.

 

Josh was born and raised in Mount Juliet, Tennessee and currently lives in Lebanon, Tennessee with his young family. He has been married to his wife Jessica since 2009 and they have two young boys, Jake and Jase. He enjoys rock climbing, playing softball, and coaching his sons' baseball teams.

Robert Sleadd, PA-C

Robert (Rob) B. Sleadd Jr. is a Certified Physician Assistant who received his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Biology from the University of Tennessee before obtaining his Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Bethel University in his hometown, Paris, TN. He has a passion for orthopedic medicine stemming from his participation in high school sports. 

 

Before becoming a PA, Rob gained experience as a student athletic trainer for the Tennessee Football Sports Medicine Department, which ignited his passion for sports medicine and orthopedics. After working two seasons with the Vols, he furthered his interest in orthopedics by working as a scribe and research assistant at Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic. Joining the Jones Team in 2021, Rob enjoys seeing patients in clinic and assisting in surgery as well as providing medical coverage for local high schools, Goodpasture Christian School and Franklin Road Academy. 

 

Rob lives in Gallatin, TN with his wife, Emily, dog, Leo, and has a son, Silas, on the way. Rob is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, biking, and spending as much time as he can outdoors. Additionally, he enjoys going to the gym, going on runs, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.

JAIME HINGER, Billing Coordinator

Jaime is the Billing Coordinator for Music City Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. She has been doing medical billing for 32 years. Jaime enjoys the challenge of keeping up with the constantly changing billing rules as well as helping our patients understand their insurance plans. She has two daughters and one granddaughter. Jaime enjoys animal rescue and spends significant time transporting shelter animals to their forever homes.

WENDY WEDEKIND, X-Ray Tech

Wendy has been an x-ray tech for 22 years. She enjoys working with patients and I tries to treat everyone as though they were her relative. She has been blessed with two beautiful children and has been married for 22 years.

AYNSLEY RISER, Clinical Assistant 

Aynsley Riser is the clinical assistant for Dr. Jason Jones and Nurse Practitioner Josh Sloan. She earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a minor in biology from Lipscomb University in 2010, and her Master's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in 2013. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) who holds current certification and licensure in the state of Tennessee.

 

Aynsley grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. She has been married to her husband Kevin since 2013 and they reside in Nashville with their daughter Ruthie. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, running, spending time in Florida, watching Auburn football and Miami Marlins baseball. She enjoys interacting with patients and seeing them through from diagnosis to full recovery.

MARKETTA SANDERS, Receptionist

Marketta is the front desk receptionist at Music City Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics. She has been married for 31 years and is a mother of 5 and grandmother of 7. She really enjoy working with each of our patients!
